At a glance

On Wednesday 18-June-2013 Apple has released updated versions of Java 6 for OS X, bringing additional improvements to security, reliability, and compatibility by updating it to 1.6.0_51.
This is a standard update to Java 6, which is distributed by Apple. Note that Java 7 is available through Oracle.

  • On OS X 10.6 , Apogee WebApproval and Project Manager client users (both PageMaster and Classic UI) can install this update and continue working without further actions.
  • On OS X 10.7 and higher, this update disables the Java SE 6 applet plug-in and will remove the Java Preference application. Portal client users that are affected by this update are advised to install Java SE 7 from Oracle by following the link in the missing plugin page. Please quit any web browsers and Java applications before installing the update.
