Bound/Unbound Products and Nested/Stacked products (1)
- Bound/Unbound Products - Everyone understands what the terms bound and unbound are refering to. Bound is a book, brochure or magazine, basically anything four or more pages that will be bound. Unbound is anything else, like a flyer, pocket folder, postcard or business card. Apogee Impose needs to know what type of product the job is so that properly impose it.
- Nested/Stacked This refers to how the signatures are gathered for binding. Nested forms are saddle-stitched, stacked forms are perfect bound.
Folding Scheme (2)
The folding scheme describes how the pages will be arranged on a press sheet along with folding instructions. There are several standard JDF folding schemes loaded by default. An operator can create or modify folding schemes.
Fold Sheet (3)
The fold sheet is the flat layout describing a single signature. Typically, there is one fold sheet per press sheet, but there can be multiple fold sheets on press sheet.
Press Sheet (4)
The press sheet is the physical sheet that the product will be printed on.
Marks
There are three categories for marks in Apogee Impose: page marks, fold sheet marks and press sheet marks.
Page Marks A crop mark, text mark, file mark, line or rectangle that is positioned in relation to pages.
Fold Sheet Marks A registration mark, fold line mark, cut mark, text mark, collation mark, file mark, line or rectangle that is positioned in relation to the fold sheet.
Press Sheet Marks A registration mark, text mark, collation mark, file mark, line or rectangle that is positioned in relation to the press sheet.
Mark Sets Mark sets are one or more marks grouped into one of three categories. Conditions can be set for their placement, such as always use the Komori color bar for a press sheet when the press is Komori.
Mark Engraver The tool for configuring mark sets
Mark Sets Inspector An inspection tool that quickly shows which mark sets are used on a press sheet and also allows for the manual addition or removal of a mark via a check box next to the mark set.
