Font substitution handling within PDFRender has changed. You no longer select a specific font as a substitute for all missing fonts.

How It Works
With the introduction of PDFRender 2.0, font substitution is now handled on a "closest match" basis. You have the option of either enabling or disabling this feature. To make your selection, do the following:
- Go to System Overview and select the PDFRender icon.
- Double-click the Parameter Sets resource.
- Open any existing RENDER parameter set and you'll see the following:
- Enable or clear the Missing Fonts check box.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Why is this Important?
In the past, you could select a unique font that the system would use any time the document didn't contain a required font. When you rendered a file to find a missing font that couldn't be detected easily, the font you selected as a substitute clearly displayed where in the file the missing font was located. Now, however, with most of the work processing through the system as PDFs, font issues are handled earlier in the process, either when the PDF is created or when the file is preflighted.If you allow font substitution at the rendering stage, you'll now enjoy "best match" substitution. The renderer will select from the fonts installed on your system based on font characteristics.
Our best advice remains to embed all fonts in the PDF. When embedding is not allowed, we recommend using 100% subsets.
